The work consists of installation of 1760 L.F. of PVC sewer main and 6 manholes, jack and bore approx. 105 L.F. of 21” sewer with steel casing pipe under West Alameda Pkwy, Replace of trees and installation of irrigation system, seeding, paving and installation of concrete path.

The work consists of the construction of a new bike and walking path along Mason St. from Prospect Road to Spring Creek. Kern Ditch Railroad Crossing Pipeline Replacement DEI was awarded the Kern Ditch Railroad Crossing Pipeline Replacement project by the Town of Windsor. Work consists of the replacement of 148’ of ductile iron irrigation pipe running under an existing railroad line. Work also consists of removal and reinstallation of the railroad track, a concrete headwall and concrete ditch lining, cathodic protection and bypass pumping.

DEI was awarded the Lagoon Detention Phase 1 project from Colorado State University. Work consists of excavation and rough grade for the purpose of creating storm water detention on a location within the CSU Main Campus. The worksite will be lowered from the existing elevation, removal of bike path, termination of existing irrigation systems and electrical, and stockpile topsoil on site. Work also includes hauling 20,000 cy of subsoil & sod to the foothills campus.

Colorado Science & Technology Park at Fitzsimons Campus Duran Excavating, Inc. was awarded this project by GH Phipps. The scope of work includes the installation of 3,070 ft of 6”, 8”, 10” and 12” sanitary sewer and manholes, installation of 3,448 ft of 8” and 12” waterline and fire hydrants, installation of 3,779 ft of 18”,24”, 30”, 36”, 48” and 60”storm sewer pipe, manholes and inlets. Work also includes removal of 5,387 ft of existing sanitary, water and storm systems, manholes, and inlets. Work also includes asphalt patching and concrete patching.

This project includes the removal of pipe, manhole structures, and asphalt materials. Work to be completed also includes earthwork and reconnection of sanitary sewer services. This project consists of replacing the existing 8” sewer system, including extensive traffic control, by-pass pumping of existing sewer, remove existing 8” pipe and manholes, installing 1,234 linear feet of 8” PVC, 6,011 linear feet of 18” and 21” PVC, manholes, services and asphalt paving.

This project includes capping the trash at the Larimer County landfill with approximately 180,000 cubic yards of soil from the on site burrow area. This consists of three stages, the first is the clay infiltration layer, the second is the root and frost protection layer and the third is topsoil placement. The job also includes installation of storm piping, catch basins and outlay structures.

Reclaimed/Raw Water Interconnect Westminster The City of Westminster awarded Duran Excavating, Inc. this project located in Westminster. The project provides for the construction of a pump station and 9,300 linear feet of reclaimed waterline ranging from 3” to 18” diameter and 600 linear feet of raw waterline 16” in diameter. The project also includes the construction of a 30’ long by 26’ wide by 14’ tall pump station building located at the City of Westminster’s Northwest Water Treatment Plant. The pump station design pumping capacity is 4,400 gpm. The pump station also includes a 20’ deep wet well for (2) 200 horse power vertical turbine pumps and motors. Due to the expansive clay soils the building foundation will be supported by drilled piers into bedrock. The pump station building will be constructed of CMU blocks with a brick veneer to match the architecture of the existing building on site. The project also includes the construction of approximately 2,583 linear feet of 18” diameter DIP reclaimed waterline; 610 linear feet of 16” diameter DIP raw waterline; 1,826 linear feet of 12” diameter reclaimed waterline, 478 linear feet of 8” diameter PVC reclaimed waterline; 333 linear feet of 4” diameter PVC reclaimed waterline; and realignment of approximately 155 linear feet of 8” potable waterline. This project also includes the construction of reclaimed waterlines using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) which includes 2,710 linear feet of 10” reclaimed waterline along 120th Avenue 167 linear feet of 6” HDPE conduit with 4” HDPE slipline beneath Wadsworth Blvd ., 305 linear feet of 6” HDPE conduit with 3” HDPE slipline. Peripheral pipeline construction includes an open trench crossing Walnut Creek. Walnut Creek crossing includes 80 linear feet of 30” steel casing and 18” DIP carrier pipe and maintenance of storm flows and restoration of creek bed and banks. Peripheral pipeline also includes jack and bore of 184 linear feet of 22” steel casing and 10” PVC carrier pipe beneath the Bradburn Blvd., Bridge along 120th Avenue. Additional work includes dewatering, surface flow management, erosion & dust control, and traffic control.

Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport – Schedule I and Schedule II The Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport is located at 11755 Airport Way in Broomfield Colorado. The Airport is between the cities of Denver and Boulder. As the General Contractor Duran Excavating, Inc. was awarded this project by CH2M Hill. This project consists of Relocation of Taxiway A, which consists of grading Safety Area Runway 11 L/29R. The project includes: Milling, Asphalt, Grading for taxiway, Cement treated sub grade, Geotextile fabric, Base course, Bituminous paving, Under drain, 48” Storm Sewer, Inlets, Electrical, and Seeding. Extreme measure had to be taken for safety and traffic control in order to keep the existing Airport in operation. This project had to be constructed in 4 different phases which required a very short construction schedule. Many overtime hours were required along with weekend work including Sunday.

Install 129 feet of 54” RCP. Remove and re-install 94 feet of 24” RCP storm drain. Sawcut & remove asphalt paving , curb , gutter & sidewalk. Chestnut Street Improvements & Waterline Replacement The Town of Windsor contracted this project with Duran Excavating, Inc. The scope of this contract includes water system, roadway, and concrete improvements on Chestnut Street between 1st Street and 4th Street located within the Town of Windsor. The waterline portion of the project will consist of replacing approximately 1700 feet of 4” waterline with 8” PVC pipe, replacing 5 fire hydrants, and reconnecting 29 water services. The roadway portion of the project includes the reconstruction of the 100 and 300 blocks of Chestnut Street and the overlay of the entire project from 1st Street to 4th Street. This includes 6,906 square yards of 4” class 6 road base, 1011 cubic yards of asphaltic concrete (Grading S). The concrete portion of this project includes the removal and replacement of 15 handicap ramps and removal and replacement of approximately 700 feet of curb, gutter, and sidewalk. This project also includes the Town of Windsor Miscellaneous Concrete Rehabilitation Project. This project includes the rehabilitation of 20 feet of curb and gutter, 814 square feet of sidewalk, 42 feet of attached sidewalk with rollover curb and gutter and 7 pedestrian handicap ramps spread over 7 locations throughout Windsor. |

| Greeley Downtown Improvements 8th and 9th Street Plaza As the General Contractor, Duran Excavating, Inc. renovated and reconstructed the 8th Street and 9th Street pedestrian malls to include new, one-way vehicular traffic constructed out of brick pavers and colored concrete along with pedestrian activity spaces. The project also includes a new pedestrian colored sidewalk with sand blasting to give an exposed aggregate effect in Lincoln Park beginning at the intersection of 8th Street and 9th Avenue extending to the intersection of 7th Street and 10th Avenue. This $1,657,300.00 contract was finished September 19, 2003.

| Greeley Airport Taxiways Duran's third phase of the Greeley Weld County Airport included construction of two taxiways. General Contractor, Duran Excavating, Inc. constructed taxiways. In order to perform this work it was essential that we coordinated with air traffic control. Maintaining communication with the air traffic control and the ground controls is necessary to maintain safe work zones. The project involved shutting down existing taxiways and runways as required to construct new taxiways. DEI had to remove existing taxi ways, over-excavate unsuitable soils, install structural fill, road base, under drain system, electrical lighting, and asphalt paving. This $2,600,000 project was completed the summer of 2003.

| Sunnyslope
Duran Excavating acted as the General Contractor for the Sunnyslope residential subdivision area in the city of Broomfield. The project included complicated techniques of installation on a sanitary sewer main which ranged in depths of 25-30 feet. Improvements included an installation of 8,000 lf of sanitary sewer main, 8,000 lf of a water main and removal and replacement of 9,200 sy of asphalt. This project was in an existing residential area which created challenges of excavating the sanitary sewer and providing water service to residents during construction. Duran successfully worked in a congested area which allowed easy access to local residents.

| Lefthand Creek Channel Duran Excavating, Inc. was commissioned as the General Contractor to excavate 159,000 CY of new channel, pipe work, landscape and irrigation for the City of Longmont Public Works Division. Duran Excavating, Inc. created a natural stream for the 4,500 ft of realigned channel which provided an overflow capacity for a 100-year storm event and established more than two acres of high quality replacement wetlands. Special thanks go to the Colorado Division of Wildlife, whose experience in this type of construction is unmatched. The city of Longmont received the Project of the Year Award in the Utility, Drainage, and Environmental category. It also won the national APWA award. This project was completed in August of 2002.
